Unfortunately I had a negative experience; a little bit of time and empathy goes a long way. I found DR Southwood to be abrupt and felt like she was not listening.

Filled in E Consult last night 7.30pm had call from Dr Southwold this morning 8.20an, appointment 10.10am. Went through history of problem (Urinary/Prostate), checked urine sample, will send to lab for further test, booked blood test and scan at Churchill and requested prescription of antibiotic and prostrate relaxant. Very impressed with swift response and service.

Dr Southwood has been treating me for more than 15 years, an excellent Doctor with whom I have total trust. She is a wonderful asset to the NHS. During cancer and artery treatment her care has been outstanding, Thankyo

Dr Southwood dealt with my medical condition in a very sympathetic and professional way. Initially, I was concerned about my medical condition and the potential health support I would receive but I needn't have been concerned about the latter! I was reassured that the correct diagnosis had been made and the relevant treatment prescribed.

My experience on the phone with Dr Southwood was not positive at all. I was trying to explain the issue we have had with my son during the last 5 day and I was completely ignored. Dr Southwood did not listen at all to the reason why I called and directly jumped to conclusions. She was stating the obvious with a very patronising and rude tone. I understand that currently there is a lot of pressure on GPs and on the NHS, but respect and empathy for patients should come first. Otherwise, the GP role is not for these people!
