Dr Ntanos was my first choice surgeon due to his reputation and some personal recommendations. Throughout the entire process, he's been very good at communication and during our initial consultation, he talked me through the entire process and recovery and what to expect, as well as answered all the questions I had. On the day of the surgery, we had a chat, and he was very professional with the initial surgical sketches. The surgery went without complications, and while I was recovering, Dr. Ntanos had a chat with my partner to let them know that everything went well. My recovery (6 weeks at the time of this review) has been without any complications. I'm very lucky to have had Dr Ntanos as my surgeon. He's true;y an amazing person, and the work he does for the trans community is immense

As a transgender male who has underwent major chest reconstruction, I cannot recommend Dr Ioannis Ntanos enough from the first consultation to the surgery and after he was nothing but professional, compassionate and incredibly skilled. He took the time to answer my worries and questions and made sure I was fully informed and comfortable every step of the way. I had my top surgery with Dr Ntanos a year and a half ago. My scars have healed beautifully and this has honestly been the best time of my life since surgery. From consultation, to surgery, to recovery Dr Ntanos is responsive, attentive and extremely communicative. He not only performs surgery competently and ethically but also is a genuine trans ally who has taken time to understand the trans experience and puts himself out there to educate himself and others about the importance of an affirmative stance to trans care. Whilst many doctors can perform this surgery well the real difference for me in the care I received from Dr Ntanos is how he genuinely understands to the best of his ability the trans experience and believes healthcare for us is essential. Can't recommend enough.

I had surgery with Dr Ntanos at the Pines in October 2024 through Transform. I had a very awkward experience with how they operate and trying to get through their layers of salespeople to make initial contact with him was iffy which put me off a bit, but I persisted as I was aware of Dr Ntanos' good reputation in the community and knew I would be in safe hands if I could just make contact with him. Unlike other UK-based private surgeons I had consulted with he did not patronise me by asking me to talk about my "gender journey" which was all there in the referral I submitted. I felt like any ordinary patient consulting for any ordinary surgery. I am happily a bit of a chubby guy and wanted a proportionate chest and Dr Ntanos was also great in this regard as he stressed I would not have to lose any weight for the procedure. Regarding the day of surgery. The anaesthetist was kind and professional, the anaesthetist nurse was chill and cracked some jokes to lighten the mood which I appreciated very much, and Dr Ntanos asked what song I wanted to listen to as I went to sleep and held my hand throughout the entire time I was being prepped. I felt as comfortable as I ever could have been given the circumstance. During the initial postoperative recovery period I did have a concern a few days in and I experienced difficulty communicating with the hospital about this, fortunately I ended up reaching out to Dr Ntanos directly on Instagram and he responded virtually immediately asking for pictures and then advised me then and there. Apart from this the recovery was remarkably event and pain free, I took codeine for 2 nights before bed and was taking regular walks around the neighbourhood after that. As for my results it is more than I could have ever hoped for, I went from a person who goes out of their way to avoid looking in the mirror, to grinning from ear to ear every time I see myself now. My desired outcome of a cis-looking chest was completely met by Dr Ntanos.
