Dr Nixon is a wonderful example of how a consultant specialist can give very professional, knowledgeable and competent medical care and advice, balanced with an empathetic, personal, practical and engaging manner. Above all she comes across as genuinely interested and concerned for you as a patient and as a person. She listens to comments and questions, and gives advice and answers honestly and with clarity.

I will never truly put into words how much Dr Nixon has meant to me and my wife as I went through my cancer treatment. From the initial diagnosis, to working on a treatment plan, and following on from the radiotherapy. Dr Nixon has been wonderful in ensuring both my physical, and mental health. She always approaches every meeting with positivity, honestly, and care. Not only does she ask how I am doing, but she also makes sure that my wife is doing fine as well, understanding the impact it has on her. Forever will I be indebted to Dr. Nixon for her care and compassion throughout my cancer journey.

Following diagnosis of Osteosarcoma in my mandible in February 2021, I spent a considerable amount of time at The Beatson where Dr Nixon would frequently visit my bedside throughout my chemotherapy treatment. I also still see her on clinic days for check ups during my recovery. I have always found solace in her presence. Our conversations have been transparent and easy for me to keep up with, even with a chemotherapy brain fog. The right balance of professionalism and friendliness has kept me informed and my outlook positive. I'm very grateful to have been blessed with a doctor who I feel genuinely cares for her patients.
