I took a very dear friend to see Dr Soryal today for a follow up consultation for her worsening Parkinson's pain. He is practicing as a locum in Jersey for (sadly) only one week. He was extremely empathetic to her condition and took the time to listen to my comments about her symptoms, including her progressing memory loss. He explained meticulously the different stages of Parkinson's and how rare it is to get dementia with it. He was utterly charming and considerate to her level of understanding, whilst at the same time explaining why he was not happy to prescribe any further medication. I know of other consultants who would do this just to get the patient out of their consulting room! I would not hesitate to recommend this lovely man, and only wish that he was our regular neurology consultant. My dear friend cried, and thanked him for being the only "medical person" who has listened to her, and given an honest answer. That just about says it all....

I see this man for the first time after not interacting with doctors for many years, he was understanding firm and most importantly informative and supportive. I have seen many Neurologist in the past and he surpassed the treatment, care and information ever given to me and that was from one appointment. When we move I will keep him as my neurologist as I feel that he cares for his patients and has patience alongside his empathetic nature. also seizure free since seeing him and sorting my meds.
