I have suffered mental health problem for a long time,i see Dr Ian Rubinstein as he has been able to help me keep it under control. He has always just been at the end of the phone in my worst episodes .When i had one episode i called the surgery and i told them i needed help and did not know what was wrong. They asked which doctor i saw for this illness and Dr Ian Rubinstein was put on the phone .He asked me what was wrong,i told him i was frightened that i want to self harm .As he was talking to me he was calling the crisis team and they came out to me I myself feel that Dr Ian Rubenstein has been my safe place where you are able to talk to him and he does't give out medications just because you feel you need it.To find Dr to give you that level of understanding would be hard to replace. Since i have had mental health issues i also have had a knee replacement that has gone wrong twice on the same knee. When i went to see him he helped with understanding i did not want to take medication for the pain and has helped me find different avenues to help to control it.

I suffer from mental health illness and have found the support from Dr Rubinstein goes far and beyond what a general practitioner needs to give. I had a episode last year when i felt that i was about to self harm. I phone the surgery and asked to speak to someone ,anyone .They asked what was wrong and who i usually see .I told them and straight away they contacted a doctor .This doctor was Dr Rubinstein ,he asked what was wrong and was trying to calm me down .He helped me focus on him and all the time he was contacting the mental health team to come out to me.he also made sure that i had some one with me until they got there. The next day went to see him and it turned out my meds were not working for me any more .I have continued to receive support from him ,which allows me to try and control this illness .His support is second to no one .I have to say hes one if not the best gp in the whole of enfield if not the top one .
