Seen this doctor on more than one occasion. First time I saw him privately. He didn’t listen to my concerns and very quickly jumped to the conclusion that my symptoms were most likely to be caused by painkiller overuse even though I had told him I hadn’t taken anything for my pain for several years. He discharged me and advised psychological support. The next time I saw Dr Redmond I was an inpatient in hospital. I had developed some very serious neurological symptoms and was practically bedbound. This time Dr Redmond didn’t even examine me and therefore missed the vital signs that something was wrong. He discharged me and told me to go get some counselling. After discharge I managed to get an urgent admission with the neurologist I was under in London. Within that admission they managed to diagnose me with not one but two very serious neurological conditions that both required surgery soon after. Luckily down to these London Doctors my life has dramatically been transformed and although I have had to adjust my life to living with these conditions, I am now able to function as a mother to my children. In future I think Dr Redmond should think twice before diagnosing people with a functional diagnosis and it would be prudent to check for physical problems first before coming to that conclusion.
