Dr. Hywel Jones is a wonderful doctor. Before my nose surgery he explained everything in detail and asked if I had any questions or concerns. He was very professional but also very approachable. He also has a very good sense of humour which really helped, as I was very nervous about the surgery, but he put me at my ease. I honestly can't think of any room for improvement.

Hywel Jones, Contacted me the day before my knee operation and gave me details of the anaesthetics and the procedures of the operation. I felt that he listened to me and answered all my question's. On the day of the operation he also took the time to visit and again explained what would happen. He came across as a very professional and personable doctor

Dr Jones had that wonderful ability to put an extremely worried patient totally at ease explaining in detail what to expect and what would happen. His empathetic manner filled me with confidence. He spent time going through my previous medical history and current medication, explaining which drugs he required me to temporarily suspend before the operation and my dietary needs in the week leading up to my procedure. Dr Jones spent time discussing the amount of pain and discomfort expected to result in the total knee replacement operation without sugar coating it, and what pain relief would be available after the operation and how pain could be controlled. He was happy to discuss all matters and explained thoroughly what he would do with regards to the Anaesthetics and what procedures he would use. Although no one should ever wish to go under the surgeons knife, if this did happen I would not hesitate to accept Dr Jones as my Anaesthetist

I recently had a total knee replacement at Springfield Hospital when Dr Hywel Jones was my anaesthetist. I found him very friendly, charming and helpful throughout my 5 days in hospital. He first came to see me before the operation when he explained what would happen during my operation and continued to visit every day to see how I was progressing and offer any advice regarding my pain and medication (even on a Sunday!) I would recommend him to anyone going through this procedure.

I have had full knee replacement surgery conducted under spinal anaesthetic. Dr Jones was responsible for my care throughout surgery and for my pain relief medication following. I was very anxious but his thorough explanation and command of the process enabled me to relax and enter theatre in a very steady state of mind. I came through the procedure really well and because of the professional strategy was mobile within a couple of hours of the operation. I liked the clear explanation of pain management and was sent home confident of my immediate needs and also what to expect in the next few weeks and how to manage it. My thanks for giving me confidence in undergoing a worrying procedure
