I went to Broomfield Hospital on the 3rd August for surgery for Breast Cancer. I was very nervous about the surgery. Dr Hywel Jones ,my anaesthetist, came out to see me, and could see i was very anxious. He took the time to talk me through what was going to happen, but in a very relaxed and humorous way. He put me totally at ease. When i went to the theatre he continued to keep me informed. Next thing i knew i was sitting in a chair, coming round, and Dr Jones was sitting next to me, chatting in his humorous way. He has a lovely way about him but still remaining very professional. He and the rest of the staff made the whole experience a more pleasurable one. An amazing Dr, Very good at what he does. Excellent

Dr Jones was very thorough, took time to explain everything and provided me with a useful fact sheet. He was reassuring and made me feel comfortable and at ease prior to surgery.

Just had my second knee replacement surgery and although I knew what to expect I was still nervous. Dr Jones put me at ease before the op and after. In my opinion he combines total professionalism with good humour and approachability.

I saw Dr Jones before my breast operation and he totally put me at ease with his professionalism but most importantly his twinkly smile and humour. I would thoroughly recommend him, he made a miserable procedure almost a pleasure with his special ability to connect with every patient and put a smile on everyone’s face. He was my anaesthetist and I was relaxed and confident in his ability and care - to the extent that although I only had my op today I wanted to write this review straight away.
