Dr Al-Robb was very caring and listened to what I said, he then asked me questions which seemed to probe aspects of what I had said (he had been listening compared to a previus psychiatrist I had went to!). He gave me various strategies I could use to improve my situation, and was very sympathetic, showing empathy and care. I have now done 2 sessions with him and plan to continue as his suggestions have been very useful !

A Disheartening Encounter: An Antiquated Expert with No Compassion Would be 0 stars across the board if possible My recent interaction with an allegedly seasoned expert left me not only questioning his relevance but also deeply disheartened by a lack of empathy and concern for mental well-being. It was evident that his primary goal was to expedite our video call, with no regard for the struggles I face in the absence of support or resources. As I sought his opinions on recent major peer-reviewed studies, his admission of ignorance was only the tip of the iceberg. Rather than engaging in a thoughtful discussion, he fixated on a single patient success story from his distant past, using it as a feeble attempt to bolster his credibility. This narrow focus revealed a shocking lack of awareness of the broader scientific landscape and a reluctance to acknowledge the evolution of his field. The most distressing aspect of the encounter, however, was the apparent disregard for my mental well-being. When I disclosed my lack of support and the challenging circumstances of living in a deprived area with minimal access to treatment, he offered no sympathy or assistance. Instead of exploring potential solutions or expressing concern for my situation, he swiftly moved on, as if eager to offload me and move on to the next item on his agenda. His dismissive attitude and lack of follow-up to my disclosure left me feeling abandoned and unsupported. It became glaringly obvious that he was more interested in ticking off boxes than addressing the very real struggles I face. This callous disregard for the human aspect of mental health issues further underscored the urgent need for professionals who not only possess current knowledge but also demonstrate genuine compassion and a commitment to the well-being of their patients. In the wake of this disheartening encounter, I can't help but lament the missed opportunity for a meaningful exchange and support that goes beyond the confines of a video call. It is a stark reminder that expertise without empathy is a hollow and ultimately damaging combination.
