Written by a carer at Musgrove Park Hospital

I remember Dr Cottis so clearly. It was March 2005 and my 3 week old baby girl Phoebe was rushed into hospital in Taunton having stopped breathing. She was critically ill with pneumonia and septicaemia and my husband and I were terrified. The first junior doctor had prepared us for the worst but Dr Cottis breezed into our lives with compassion, dedication, humour and expertise in all the right proportions. When she was around, everything felt OK. Phoebe made a good recovery and is now a healthy 11 year old. Some people never disappear from one's memory - thank you Dr Cottis, you made it all so much better.
