Dr Jackson was so patient, kind and understanding of my anxieties. I felt very safe with him. He has a very calming and soothing manner. The intravenous sedation he gave me for my dental extraction was perfect, I remember nothing about the procedure. He made a procedure I was dreading and extremely anxious about, bearable. I would highly recommend Dr Jackson for his personable manner, his professionalism and his medical skills. Rosie Waters.

I had routine total hip replacement , but as I had not had any illnesses or operations before , at age 78 , I was frankly terrified , particularly of anaesthetic and failing to recover and failing to cope with sedation . Dr Jackson explained what was happening and most importantly ,he said we will take care of you , we will look after you ,we won't leave you . I can't tell you how those words stuck in my mind and I hope he says it to everyone . Thank you very much .

Dr Jackson was amazing! As I was in so much pain, he had conducted the placement of my epidural and luckily for me, I was told I needed an emergency C-Section and Dr Jackson was still present. Even though his shift was ending in 15mins, he stayed with me throughout the whole surgery took the end. He also paid me a visit at the maternity ward to see if I was okay and how I was getting on, which was so lovely! It’s not very often I have seen this service as a patient from the times I have been in hospital. I will definitely recommend Dr Jackson as he is a consultant that listens to the patient and also makes you laugh when you’re struggling with your pain :) Thank you Dr Jackson!

I was anxious about the general anaesthetic as I had never had it before. Dr Jackson was very understanding when I discussed this with him and explained what he could do to help me relax. He gently and clearly explained why he would not recommend a pre-op tranquilliser and helped me decide against one, though I still felt I had the freedom to opt for one if I really wanted one. He was patient and I felt he took me seriously and had time for me. He explained exactly what he would do and why, and he reassured me that he would take very good care of me. I found this very reassuring and I trusted him. This helped me feel a lot calmer before my op. In the anaesthetic room, his manner was again calm and reassuring. He chatted to me about my work and helped to put me at ease. (The nurse with me was also very friendly, motherly, calming and reassuring). After the operation, the sensation of coming round from the anaesthetic was pleasant and calm. I suffered zero side-effects from the anaesthetic as far as I was aware - no nausea, able to drink and eat and walk around very soon after the op. The pain relief he gave me during the op was excellent in that I had little or no pain at all immediately afterwards, and in fact the next few days were virtually pain-free, even when I wasn't taking pain relief meds as I didn't feel I always needed them. Before my discharge he checked up on me and talked through my outpatient pain meds with me, and also gave me some written information, which was helpful. I feel that Dr Jackson is not only a highly skilled anaesthetist but also a genuinely kind person with a manner that puts patients at ease. I saw him in a private hospital and my over-riding feeling afterwards was that I hope he practises in the NHS as well because everybody, not just those lucky enough to have private health insurance, should be able to benefit from the standard of care he provides.
