I met Dr Spoto in April 1995, he made assumptions about my mental health, treated me with little respect or cared how I was feeling, fired questions at me, with out giving to reply, I was asking to go home, as there was little care for a new mums needs, but he just muddled me up and walked off, saying her isn't go home.... I still have flashbacks and trauma from how he treated me, should never be allowed need any vulnerable people with mental illness
My experience with Dr Spoto is that he has a very poor rapport with the patient. His manner can be rude, abrupt, and he often fails to listen attentively and arrogantly dismisses any input from the patient. If you disagree or express any concerns with his treatment/diagnosis he is very dismissive and often obstructive in seeking appropriate advise and treatment or a second opinion.
A very negative and unproductive experience with consultant. I have since sought treatment elsewhere.
My husband had the most awful experience with this doctor. He wouldn't listen to my husband and was thus incorrectly diagnosed. The family went elsewhere (London) for a second opinion and he has subsequently been correctly diagnosed.
