Dr McFarlane is such a great caring doctor and will do what she can and more to help you with your problems.
I dont want to say too many nice things as I already have problems getting an appointment with Dr Mac.
Dr Mac is never dismissive and always will turn and face you instead of looking at the PC screen. The surgury always tries to accomodate you although it it is near on impossible to book Dr Mac for a few weeks.
More doctors would assist the surgury and this would eleviate the amount of patients loaded onto each Dr.
Dr. Gillian McFarlane is an excellent physician, for example, I had a TIA in 2004 (a mini stroke) and my blood pressure was going up and down at the rate of a lift and I felt that it would end up as a disaster. She ran Stroke Clinic, saw what was happening, took me into her surgery, selected the correct medicines, arranged for an ECG and gradually I came back to a normal healthy state.
The visit today was a two way street in that my concerns and her caring comments helped to improve my health for the future.
A very caring doctor and attentive listener despite the very very limited time available. Really felt Dr McFarlane was taking my problems on board and was going to do everything in her power to help me both physically and mentally. How to improve is not easy in the present situation but obviously we need more time! (I don't like to "ask" for a 20mn appointment it makes me feel selfish and embarrassed)
Dr McFarlane always welcomes you with a friendly smile. Always looks interested in what you are saying and listens, never feel rushed. Takes the time to explain things to you properly. You walk away feeling like she really cares about her patients.
