She listens to you and knows exactly what to do to help. Then follows up with tests to double check for any alternative solutions.
Dr McFarlane saved my life. After three visits to A&E at St Peter's Hospital Chertsey with bad chest pains I was diagnosed with costochondritis and given pain killing medication. The pain continued so I decided to call my local doctor's surgery and ask for a home visit. Dr McFarlane visited me at home and was very aware that there was something more serious going on. She immediately called an ambulance which took me to St Peter's Hospital where it was found after a scan that I had blood clots in both lungs. I would thoroughly recommend Dr McFarlane, she is a listening and caring doctor and although I have to book an appointment well in advance I always want to be seen by her when I go to Studholme Medical Centre.
I have been a patient of Dr. McFarlane since she came to Studholme Surgery. She spends as much time that is necessary to listen and explain what if any treatment is needed. She is genuinely a very caring person, easy to talk to and puts me at ease. I know that she works very long hours, like many in the NHS, but I would say that she is a credit to this service and a big asset to Studhome Surgery.
I Give Dr. McFarlane 5 stars for everything.
Dr. McFarlane never rushes your appointment, she spends as much time with you as necessary.
I can't praise Dr. Mc Farlane enough!!!
Dr McFarlane is a very careing, friendly and knowledgeable GP. She listens to what you have to say and treats you as an intelligent individual. She takes a real interest in your problems and works hard to ensure you get the best possible treatments from other health workers and doctors in the shortest possible waiting time - something which is not very easy in the current climate of overstreched NHS resources.
To summarise, in the past 50 years, she is the very best GP we have ever had - a real credit to the Health Service.
