I had a consultation with Dr Zachariah last week at Addenbrooks following a stroke last November. I have met him once before whilst in hospital. On both occasions I found him to be rigid, unimaginative and negative. He may be quite good at the actual medical bit but really needs to spend some time talking to stroke patients to gain a better understanding of their needs. He also needs to understand and work more closely with physiotherapists. Good rehab is critical after a stroke and it’s success depends on good team work between physios, OT, doctors AND THE PATIENT. Doctors need to see themselves as part of the team and should not see themselves as superior to it.

My husband spent several months at Broomfield Hospital recovering from Encephalitis, the infection was very serious as well as being very rare. Dr Zachariah treatment of my husband was brilliant, I couldn't have asked for more, he listened and answered any questions or problems we had. I have never has much dealings with hospitals, this one came as a big shock, but I was never let down by him. Looking back I think my husband would not have made such a remarkable recovery, in fact the odds very much against him. Thank you Dr Zachariah

Dr Zach is a truly lovely man - Gentle but firm - he will guide you but make no bones do not waste his precious time - He told me this on my first visit and earned my respect - His inspration and advice has guided me away from smoking and I am grateful for this - You will not be disapointed should you be "unfortunate" enough to need Dr Zach
