Dr George Bostock

Dr George Bostock was the anaesthetist for a procedure I had on a Fistula on Thursday October 6th. Dr Bostock met me around 60 mins before going into theatre to run through some final questions as well as talk through exactly what would happen and what options there were e.g. which veins they may chose to take. He has a wonderful personable demeanour and really put me at ease through the whole process. I had my blood pressure/heart rate taken shortly after and I appeared to be calm which is a good reflection on how at ease Dr Bostock made feel! Leading into theatre as they administered the anaesthetic everything was very calm and the insertion of the needle was without any discomfort. Mr Bostock also advised how I would be feeling and any sensations as the first anaesthetic entered my hand. Following surgery Dr Bostock checked on my progress and wished me well. George is a credit to his profession, he has a wonderful demeanour that is as professional as it is re-assuring and friendly. I can’t thank him enough for making the experience as comfortable as it has been.

I had my 2nd child, Harriet, via elective caesarian section on 7th June 2022 at Ipswich hospital. I had previously had my 1st child via caesarian at a different hospital where the spinal block failed, I was in pain while being cut and therefore had to have a general anaesthetic. I found it a very traumatic experience and I was absolutely terrified of having another spinal block in case the same experience happened again. I needn't have worried as Dr Bostock was absolutely fantastic. He fully listened to my concerns, explained carefully his plan and made me feel totally in control. He performed a very successful spinal block, I felt nothing and the experience was amazing. He made me feel totally confident in what he was doing and kept me calm throughout. Being awake and my husband being present while our daughter was born was one of the best days of our lives and without Dr Bostock this wouldn't have been possible. I am so incredibly grateful to him and am so pleased I trusted him to do my spinal block. Thank you Dr Bostock!

Recently had a shoulder Operation. i had a nerve block in my neck before hand and he gave lots of reassurance to me. A real gentleman with empathy and understanding .

The kindest, most professional and most wonderful man imaginable. I was TERRIFIED about having a "spinal" for my knee surgery, and he took a lot of time to reassure me, both in theroom and in the theatre. He has hundreds of 5 star reviews on other sites, but if this is the site you are looking at, please feel totally reassured that this marvellous man will do a safe and competent job for you.

I recently came to Ipswich Hospital for knee surgery, Dr Bostock was my anaesthetist , His care was amazing, his calming bedside manner put me at ease and I didn’t feel sick or in pain after the anaesthetic he gave me .
