Dr Hoffman is highly qualified:the problem comes when putting those qualifications into the practice. An abrupt manner is unhelpful, but not an issue per se. The problems come when examinations are cursory or not conducted at all, with potentially dangerous consequences. A judgemental approach compounds matters. His methods and poor patient interaction have been known for over two decades.

Recently my husband had a review of the medications prescribed by a specialist. It was established that the medications should not be given to people with Parkinson's Disease which my husband has suffered from for over 30 years. Dr Hoffman said that that my husband doesn't need these drugs. Since the withdrawal of the tablets, my husband has improved and no longer suffers malign hallucinations. Thank you Dr Hoffman. I have at last found a way to praise you.

Sadly a standing joke - ie all other drs are booked but always available. This has been an issue for many many years and the fact that the practice manager(s) and other doctors haven't dealt with this is to their detriment as their receptionists 'know' and openly laugh about it... It is well known locally that if you only need a scrip then see him. Disappointed by lack of proper management of practice/reception and no forms available for patients to complete complaints... made difficult to complain etc

A few years ago my mother was ill so we called in a doctor; Hoffmann came and dismissed her problems, said there was nothing wrong and left, very rude man! A few days later we had to call another Doctor, luckily a different Doctor came, and he examined her and arranged to send her to hospital. Few weeks later she died of cancer. I have been to Hoffman with a problem and found he was very aggressive in his manner and did not have patients in his questioning, he did not give you time to think about an answer before he insisted in a reply. Never been back to him since!

I think Dr. Hoffmann is misunderstood. He is a very serious person, although I did manage to make him smile once. What I am concerned with is not how a doctor acts but what use his advice turns out to be, In that I cannot fault him.
