Dr Verhoeff looked after my daughter as part of a team when she was very ill with an eating disorder. Although my daughter was looked after CAMHAS as well, I found Dr. Verhoeff's input very valuable. Her contributions towards helping my child went beyond her duties of a paediatrician. She looked after the physical welfare of my child but also mental and spiritual. Dr. Verhoeff was the only constant over the three year period that pulled my child out of the clutches of a menacing disorder. She was never rushed although every minute of her time was accounted for, she took time to listen and talk, she was interested in the individual and the story of the individual. She communicated with evidence and compassion the need to eat and helped with supplements etc, every step of the way. She was always professional but never impersonal. Her approach was meaningful and compassionate, my child really responded to the confidence and compassion in her tone and behaviour. I am very grateful to Alder Hey and Dr Verhoeff in particular for everything.

Dr.Verhoeff treated my Grandson, who was admitted in October 2015 in a very serious condition. He spent almost 6 weeks in hospital and the care he received under the direction of Dr. Verhoeff could not have been better.......anywhere in the world! He is now on the mend...back at school....but still under the care and direction of Dr. Verhoeff. I would recommend Dr.Verhoeff without hesitation.....her care....direction.....control and advice are first class! We feel very lucky to have had her to help our Grandson through a very difficult time......we are indeed lucky to have her at Alder Hey and there for children who need her help!!
