I saw Dr Klemperer after being batted back and forth from different medical departments due to sensory processing issues. Whilst addressing SPD is not directly in Dr Klemperer's remit, she has been helping to source additional support for me since our discussion. Many doctors/consultants would typically discharge a patient upon finding that they are not the direct line of support, but Dr Klemperer has shown a great amount of care in following up with me and making sure that I am signposted to the correct places and can find additional support.

I went to see Dr Klemperer as I had been experiencing persistent issues which had so far evaded diagnosis and were resistant to medication. I had previously seen several Psychiatrists; the upshot being that these interactions had not been helpful. I was still struggling to get answers and more importantly no longer-term plan as to how to resolve or manage my difficulties. Dr Klemperer was a breath of fresh air, she manages to combine in-depth knowledge, expertise and professionalism with a very “human”, warm, kind, caring and respectful manner. Her approach is person centred and thorough; I didn’t feel like another patient on a conveyer belt. She took the time to understand my context, complexities and concerns and showed a genuine interest in me as a person. She made me feel safe and secure, but also hopeful that we could identify my issues and develop an effective plan to manage my condition in the future. Dr Klemperer was (very quickly) able to make a diagnosis, which was followed up with a plan, advice and guidance on how to manage my condition and medication. She did everything she said she would do and answered all of my questions. Dr Klemperer has significantly changed my life for the better – spotting something that no other mental health professional had even mentioned to me before. The medication she prescribed has already made a huge difference, and the diagnosis makes perfect sense to me. I would have no hesitation in recommending Dr Klemperer, the level of care she provides is outstanding.

Talking to Dr Klemperer about my problems was very easy as she is such a warm and friendly doctor. I was reassured by her knowledge, experience and discussions, as I was unsure about the medication initially, however it has proven to be a life changing experience for me. I would whole heartedly recommend Dr Klemperer as a trustworthy and exceptional psychiatrist.

Dr Klemperer is highly knowledgeable and experienced. This is obviously crucial but for me a doctor's personal qualities are equally important and Dr Klemperer is kind, caring and empathic. I had many questions and she was most patient and thorough in answering them. As well as wanting to look at possible medication, I also wanted to explore non-medication options. She was very open to this coming up with a range of useful and supportive strategies. I would highly recommend her to anyone seeking help at a challenging time.

Profile

I studied medicine at Cambridge University and Guy’s Hospital, London.

I trained in psychiatry at Guy’s Hospital, where I conducted award-winning research, publishing in the British Medical Journal and the British Journal of Psychiatry.
