I started a cough on Christmas Eve which developed rapidly into a chest infection. By Boxing Day my family and I were considering a trip to the ‘walk in’ Centre. We put this off mainly as I know how the hospital system is so stretched this time of year. I got a GP appointment this morning with Dr Faith Garise, who I have never met before. Dr Garise showed patience in taking my recent medical history and examined me, took BP etc. Throughout Doctor explained the process, reassuring me and explaining her diagnosis and care options, i.e care at home of a stay in hospital. We decided to try home care with a range of medications. Doctor explained that if the prescribed medications did not begin to turn my situation around I would need to be admitted this afternoon. Doctor phoned me earlier this afternoon and again was very considerate and listened to my explanation of how I was now feeling. She told me I should continue home recovery, however she also told me that I or my family must contact the surgery in hours if things got worse, of if out of hours ring 999. I have had a number of chest infections over the years and a stroke. I can honestly report that Dr Faith Garise has afforded me exceptional care. I feel so grateful for her professionalism. Three Cheers for our amazing NHS !!

Did not listen, did not show compassionate, implied we were wasting NHS money by requesting a Just in case kit for my father whom was dying with cancer. Refused to believe me when I said my father had COPD. Refused to offer oxygen or tell us how to source it when my father was clearly in need of it - he died two days later. Doctor Garise said she could here him stringing a sentence together in the background of the call therefore he didn't need oxygen. She was the locum doctor and was dreadful.sadly- the very next day this same doctor was covering at the hospital and again showed resistance to supporting us- didn't want to supply prescription or paperwork for just in case kit and again didn't help source oxygen ...my father died the next day and we were unable to make him more comfortable with oxygen. She was a disgrace of a doctor and I will make a formal complaint.
