I was referred to Dr Ali during the pandemic when I experienced a serious facial skin problem. He listened to everything I said about how I had seen 3 other dermatologists and that they had been unable to prescribe a medication that clears the condition effectively. He reviewed the photos I sent and suggested I tried a different medication. He fully explained the possible risks associated with taking Neoral but reassured me that he would be closely monitoring me with regular blood tests and that we would talk often to ensure that I was comfortable increasing the dosage if necessary. I found his communication of what I might expect but what he hoped would be the outcome extremely helpful. He has maintained regular communication with me throughout the process and my skin is now completely clear. I am no longer on the medication but I would have no hesitation in contacting him again should I have another skin episode. His honesty that this might not be the solution combined with his ability to make me feel that he knew what he was talking about was very important. An ability to listen to his patient sympathetically, to communicate what he hoped would happen with the medication very clearly and his commitment to support his patients throughout is not something I have come across before and cannot praise highly enough. Surely this is what all patients want whatever their health issue.
