I was with him for a number of years and his retirement has proven to be deeply upsetting to myself and many of his other patients. He didn’t just treat me as a number or a diagnosis. He treated me as a person and I never felt rushed or like a burden. I fought him for a number of years (entirely my fault, not his) but he never once gave up on me. I’m deeply unsure I’ll ever find a psychiatrist as good as he is. He’s set the standard that high. I truly don’t know where I’d be without him. He’s provided me with guidance and skills I’ll carry with me for the rest of my life. I always appreciated the humourous moments in our sessions which acted as a break from all the seriousness. It’s unlikely he’s reading this but if you’re reading this, Dr Puschmann, thank you.
