A very caring doctor who listens to the patient. Nothing is too much trouble for him. A credit to the Birchwood practice. Managed to get an appoinment with him which is very rare these days as he has lots of paperwork. Not always easy to get an appointment as at 8.30am every day the telephone lines are full of patients awaiting the receptionist to try to make appointments. Calling two minutes after 8.30am usually results in all appoinments being taken up for the day.

I recently saw the doctor for my shoulder complaint, he was extremely polite, attentive and most noticeably patient without interruption. He took the time to listen to every word I said and at the end made his diagnosis and even asked me if I was happy to undertake his diagnosis and treatment. The NHS could well do with more doctors of his calibre.

I went with my mother - an excellent doctor. Very attentive and compassionate: listened very carefully and did not rush. Took time to try and get to the bottom of her concerns. Very patient and, in my opinion, extremely competent.

I am always satisfied after I am seen by DrVijaykumar, he is caring , has time to listen and gives constructive advise if you need to change your medication for whatever reason . He fully explains why this has to happen and the benefits you will experience. He has been our family GP for a number of years and for many more to come we hope.

I happen to have a huge medical history at a relatively young age, suffering with conditions usually found in more senior patients. Dr Vijaykumar is brilliant with me always trying not to get frustrated with me and my lack of understanding and inability to monitor my conditions in favour of just plodding on. Im annoying because when you ask for an appointment you are supposed to talk about one thing, I can never get my list down to just three things so I am always asking more of him than perhaps I should but I do have to. I think the only bad thing is he is a victim of his own success now and it is almost impossible to ensure I get to see him and I do feel with the strange things going on no one knows me better. He is kind but firm and not only encourages but is equally quick to give you a roasting if you have not been behaving properly. As a doctor he is a great listener, open to other suggestions and points of view which I find particularly useful and what I believe is a true consultation. He is a great man and doctor if a little too busy!!
