I was desperate for an appointment for my toddler i had found some lumps on her leg I managed to get an appointment with Eileen Bailam I was very happy turned up dr was very lovely to talk to by all means but did not put my mind to rest at all . She did check reflexes on my child but I was not there for that . I left our appointment being told just to leave her lumps but then few days later received an invoice of £270 after being told it was £170 just for a consultation still £170 I thought was steep for a child but I agreed . Now having to pay £270 with no choice . Very unfair as I still need to get my daughter check for a 2nd opinion. Overall lovely talker but definitely not satisfied. If I would of felt reassured with my child’s lumps I would probably feel better about paying the unexpected fee

We were sent an appointment for rheumatology as part of investigations into my 16 year old sons health deteriorating and nobody being able to find out the cause. She was fantastic! What a lovely, sincere Dr she spent time talking & listening to Nathan much to the annoyance of other patients who were delayed because Nathan needed more attention. I do appreciate it is frustrating but I always think at least we will be seen and if we need more time then at least we know they will take the time. Dr Baildam wanted Nathan to be admitted to Alder Hey where a multi disciplinary team could review him. He was admitted that week, late on the Friday evening Dr Baildam visited Nathan to say hello & throughout his 4 week stay she continued to pop in even though his care had been transferred to another area. If anyone is placed in the care of Rheumatology you can be sure of care with empathy, support and a well informed team.
