Modern thinking, down to earth and effective.
The RSCH has been my 'local' hospital all my life and luckily until recently have had little reason to go there. But during the course of the last year I have had nothing but EXCELLENT care from Dr Leatham and the various cardiac departments and their teams. I have been treated with care, efficiency and kindness - I could not have asked for more. As a result of the above comments I can honestly not think of any way to improve what - for me - has been a near perfect service.
I am a healthy 52 year old Architect.
I had odd (atypical chest pains) and a family history of heart disease.
I had a standard Cardiological investigations at a local London hospital - which involved wearing an external heart monitor for a week and was told all was OK due to my age and fitness.
I requested a second opinion and got in touch with Dr. Edward Latham (Cardiologist).
Based on my family history, I had a one-stop Cardiac CT Coronary Angiogram.
A diagnosis showed heart disease of the LAD and I was fast tracked to a definitive Angio and pressure wire, ith.
A surgical review happened on the same day.
Surgery was booked within 3 months and a successful operation carried out.
Dr Leatham saw me when I was admitted to hospital last year. He considered my papers and discussed my condition with great interest. He offered various options and promised to liaise with my GP to ensure the best case outcome. I would definitely recommend him.
I found Dr Leatham to be pleasant and friendly. He seemed extremely thorough in his investigations and gained my trust and confidence. As a very overweight woman it was extremely embarrassing as so many of my health issues are my own fault but Dr Leatham was kind, non-judgmental and helpful.
