My son is under the care of this superb principled consultant. Dr mulherin is a credit to the nhs and he is incredibly helpful. He is most helpful given my sons condition is difficult to sort out treatment wise. Dr d always listens supports offers his help if he can which is a massive help to my son who does struggle massively. He has sorted out injections physio hydrotherapy and so on.he wouldn’t get better treatment privately or from anybody else. We have seen different consultants over a lot of different areas my son is under 7 different specialists and we both agree dr mulherin is the best out of all of them. Dr d is genuine down to earth and re assuring and has gained the trust respect from my son which is no mean feat given he feels deflated and let down by the nhs in particular the urology area. THANK YOU. ( shame about the football team he supports)

Had follow up last Thursday with dr mulherin. I have to say I was feeling disillusioned with my gps & other consultants I’m under. Dr mulherin called for a follow up after explaining how I was feeling and not getting much help support from gp his first words is there anything I can help with. I’m not ashamed to say how I’m feeling mentally I welled up. If all consultants was as good as this dr well the nhs would be very well functional & patients would have good outcomes he is always full of support understanding listens goes out of his way, this is a massive help to me gives his advice. We have ample respect for him. We can have a laugh with him and banter shame about his football team he supports but we all have our faults ! I was having a scan he said he would keep a eye out for it. I know there isn’t anybody that would treat me like he does for my me & fibromyalgia. I dread the day he retires I have to say.

Had a follow up with D in October as normal incredibly thorough considerate kind caring listens carefully summaries at end you are clear on what’s going on. Copies you in with letter which is always prompt. Keen to put a plan in place, why can’t all consultants be like this man.

Had a telephone call consultation 9.2.21 with mr mulherin - due to the pandemic there wasn’t a lot he could do understandably as normally I go in hydropool for my chronic pain & physio & injections but he still was understanding to my struggles listened to me explained he would catch up in autumn he is a very good consultant who has always kept to his word when due to call he does extremely reliable rare these days he fully gets my situation & always says if things get very bad to call his secretary. Thank you for being available throughout this pandemic.

Mr mulherin has been a great support but he gets my complex situation some consultants don’t we have great respect for him he treats us how we expect to be treated and more than expected my son dreads the time he retires as he suffers with anxiety depression he always follows up does what he says he is going to do that’s rare these days doesn’t fob you off you won’t find a rheumatologist better than him we have nothing but praise he helped my son by getting him in hydropool physio injections he suffers but the attitude of this consultant is a tonic I have issues it was suggested I see a orthopaedic & rheumatoid consultant I will happily wait to see dr mulherin as I know he is the best and very comprehensive in his investigations and treatment plans & collating info & explaining everything - he deserves the praise we have previously let the ceo know how good this consultant is
