Everyone who needs a doctor deserves great care. Undoubtedly, doctors vary in the care they provide but, to some like Dr Mittal, caring passionately for his patients comes naturally. This is a God given gift which many do not possess. It requires empathy, good communication and professionalism. I have known Dr Mittal for 16 years. His approach to patients and parents is an example for both senior and junior alike. On many occasions he has worked ‘over and above’ what is expected of him. He ‘chips in’ to help both consultants and juniors when there are shortages of staff in the department. He has wide knowledge of paediatrics and always keeps up with new developments. Nursing staff, doctors and patients trust him and have a high regard for him. He exhibits humblity and gets on extremely well with everybody. I for one feel that when he is on duty children are safe. I also believe that he is a paediatrician who is under-rated and not valued as he should be. I would commend him to the public unreservedly. Walsall is lucky to have him and I hope that he continues to play an active role for many years to come.

Dr Mittal has been a colleague of mine for 8 years. During that time he has always been extremely professional, helpful and caring and goes above and beyond what is expected of him. He will always help when asked and can always be relied upon.

I have seen him working in Paediatric Ward, Paediatric assessment unit and Paediatric Clinics at Manor Hospital, Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust for last 2 years. He is a valuable member of the team. He is very thorough about patient assessment. He listens to parents and communicate very well. I appriciate his untiring effort to chase up results and communicae to different paediatric specialists at tertiary referral centre to manage complex patients. I received good feedback about him from parents of children under my care. He attends departmental teaching regularly and participates in discussion. He presents cases and topics and audits regularly. His input is valued by all consultant colleagues and junior colleagues. He is a very good member of Paediatric Team and proved to be helpful and supportive to other colleagues. I recommend him because he cares for the patients he looks after and supports his colleagues he works with.
