Have had the pleasure of meeting Dr Whitty on and off over the past few years and have always found our conversations to be engaging and knowledgeable, though as we have both researched and practiced entirely different subjects our interpretations may differ regarding what (to me) is considered performance art, and what is not. These intricacies can take years to iron out though am thankful for the action that was taken in my case that resolved a lot of issues in my life nevertheless. ok

Dr Whitty saw me when I was very poorly. He makes you feel comfortable and has a kind, genuine voice. He provides lots of information about my condition and is very positive with what treatments are available and gives you a realistic timescale of when things are to start. I was able to contact me during one of “my blips” and offered support and advice. The whole mental health Team at Alderney Hospital are amazing!

Dr D Whitty in my opinion is the best psychiatrist in Dorset. He listens, he cares and offers good objective advice. I consider myself a very strong independent person and Dr Whitty is one of a few people that I will actually listen to as I value his opinion. The only criticism I have is that the time you have with him is so short. In my experience you must go prepared with your questions as your appointment time is so short. He has helped me through the breakup of my marriage, coping with family bereavements and has also assisted my dear brother with his condition. He is the ultimate professional and I just hope that he stays at Alderney as he would be sorely missed if he moved on as many of the good ones do.
