He was very pleasant and kind, thoroughly professional, explained the procedure in great detail, and re-assured me when I was anxious. He made me feel totally at ease even though the procedure I was undergoing was a very difficult one with lots of potential complications, and I was very apprehensive. He was extremely dexterous and skilful and I hardly felt a thing. Before I even knew it the whole thing was over. After I was sent back to the ward, he came and checked on me twice every day, until I was discharged, to make sure everything was in place and I did not suffer any ill-effects. The nurses up on the ward told me he was the only Radiology Consultant in the hospital to ever do this. I have to say I was exceedingly impressed by both his degree of skill (as the procedure accomplished its purpose and I was immediately relieved of some really painful and hugely distressing symptoms) and his conscientiousness in reviewing me in the ward daily, despite not being required to do so. We are remarkably lucky to have doctors like him in the NHS, with such a wonderful worth ethic and with such regard for their patients.
