I was a day patient having a prostate biopsy. David Uncles was the anaesthetist. He saw me before the operation to brief me and answer any questions. As he prepared me for the operation itself, I found him very friendly and calming. I felt safe under his care. He explained what he was doing enabling me to feel relaxed. Later in the evening after the operation he came back just to check I was OK and wish me all th best. I was not expecting this but appreciated it very much.
Mr Uncles was my Anaesthetist when having hip surgery on 14th March. I found him to be extremely informative and professional along with be very approachable.
Whilst in the anaesthesia suite prior to my operation Mr Uncles was very friendly and spoke to me about my interests while performing his work, he really puts you at ease.
Also the next morning he popped round to see me and discuss my operation in more detail, this was great has I have never had an Anaesthetist pop back and see me before. I really hope I have Mr Uncles as my Anaesthetist for my next procedure.
Dr. Uncles explained what would happen with my anaesthetic, and put me at ease. I had no worries about what would happen. He was friendly and we had a brief general chat before the operation. Evereything was straightforward.
Quietly spoken, explains procedures & what he is going to do clearly. He is very professional & caring about the way he does this.
Puts the patient at ease and allays worries & concerns pre operatively
This instills trust in a patient as it did to me.
Introducing himself at my bedside Dr David Uncles explained the procedure clearly and concisely - again in pre-op was pleasant and reassuring helping me to relax. Post operation assuring me that everything went as planned and wished me a speedy recovery. I was left with a feeling of complete confidence in him.

Profile
I am a specialist Anaesthetist with interests in Obstetric, Ambulatory and Inpatient anaesthesia. I employ a variety of anaesthetic techniques including general or regional anaesthesia, although I often use them in combination to optimise and enhance patients' peri and post-operative experience.
I am dedicated to putting the patient first through the provision of safe and reassuring care delivered in conjunction with my colleagues and associates.
I was present at the inauguration of the Helsinki Declaration in June 2010. This enshrines the values essential to the promotion of the highest professional and safety standards expected of anaesthetists. It is my hope to match or even exceed the expectations of patients who place their trust in me.
