Dr Hampson-Evans was chosen by my surgeon as the anesthetist for my surgery. I guess in the nature of his specialty you don't see much of him. He came to see me in the run up to the operation and we talked about previous experiences of anesthetics. He listened carefully to what I said about a previous experience and reassured me about the process he would follow to make sure I was all safe. In the anesthetics room he came with a further and clear explanation of what was to happen which I appreciated and he put a needle in the back of my hand and told me to start counting. I don't even remember starting to count and I just wish I'd been able to say thank you to him.
