Recently I had Right hand Carpal Tunnel release surgery carried out by Mr Daniel Armstrong at The Park hospital. I can honestly say that the service and care I have received has been fantastic from start to finish from everyone at the hospital. Dan and his team were all so professional, well organised and made me feel at ease (they also had a sense of humour which helps). I would have no hesitation at all in recommending Mr Daniel Armstrong to anyone as he delivers an amazing service. Many thanks to everyone at The Park hospital.

Mr Armstrong and his team have replaced both of my base of thumb cartilages with “Cartiva” implants. Both operations and pre and post op care were exemplary, not just from Dan but from everyone from reception to nurses, porters and anaesthetist. In the operating theatre it was a very friendly atmosphere and everyone tried their best to keep me informed as the op progressed, and Dan showed me my open hand a couple of times during the operation. After a year, my dominant hand is around 80-90% of original pre arthritis strength but the arthritic pain has gone. Way, way stronger than it was pre-operation. A truly life changing operation, so many thanks!! For anyone considering the same operation, the thumb is usable for light tasks after 3 weeks but strength and range of movement take Months to recover. As a guide I could do buttons up after 8 weeks. The key difference post op, is that when the thumb is pushed too hard, the pain on movement lasts a couple of days then the thumb comes back stronger, rather than the waves of arthritic pain pre-op. In summary, a long road but so worth it!

After an X-ray at my initial consultation, Mr Armstrong thoroughly explained all of the options open to me. The Operation was booked and took place very soon after at the Spire Nottingham and all Staff and facilities there are excellent. Post surgery consultations were again full explained to me. I am now totally pain free and can't thank Mr Armstrong and his team at the Spire enough. Thanks again.

Mr Armstrong has a very kind manner and his quiet confidence is a great comfort. I appreciate the time and trouble he has taken to explain the problem with my finger when I visited the Park Hospital and I’m very grateful for his care and expertise.
