Cyrus was a pleasure to work with. He is an expert in his field, and provided all the assistance I could've wanted during the process of my ADHD diagnosis/treatment. No question remained unanswered, and detailed, yet easy to grasp, explanations were provided every step of the way. He showed patience and an attentive attitude throughout. I do feel that the paperwork detailing the costs could be formatted in a more comprehensive way, as there were occasions when I would struggle to figure out which service I was providing payment for. Overall I would wholeheartedly recommend Cyrus's services.

My initial reason for seeing this doctor at PsychiatryUK was to get an addictions assessment including describe to the doctor all my other issues. I clearly and very well outlined in many documents using the portal at PsychiatryUK my issues with internet addictions, gaming and anime addictions, social media and most notably my addictions to compulsive pornography and masturbation. Yet this doctor failed to provide me the appropriate help I needed simply because he was not competent in dealing with sexual addictions and did not have adequate experience. Furthermore, his service in treating ADHD was bad. I was to go through the NHS and try to get ADHD medication for the first time through PsychiatryUK as I previously had from another psychiatrist. At that time, I was in full time education and the doctor kept on renewing for almost an entire year as we met up almost for 3 reviews because he was so adamant I needed ADHD medication. His “solution” was to give me methylphenidate XL alongside a benzodiazepine to allow me to adjust as I am hypersensitive to stimulants. The nurse that was prescribed sent me a message as I waited about nearly 4 months to get to the end of the cue and send me a batch of the methylphenidate medication and I was told to take it. Taking this medication I ended up with severe symptoms of jitterness, hyperactivity, racing thoughts and inability to relax. I got no benzodiazepine to help me with the anxiety. I couldn’t handle it after just one day of taking it so I kept sending him messages on the portal. His service was so poor that I had to send the nurse a message to message him because he refused to respond to me. When I saw him again his excuse was “I wasn’t sure if this is provided through PsychiatryUK, you would have to get it through your GP”. So why did you not tell me the 4 months I was waiting? This seems to me like he wanted to get it over and done with and simply did not care. I had a number of religious issues and family issues that I did send him documents about. He simply ignored it and was so adamant to focus on the ADHD despite it affecting me more than anything else. He told me to see another doctor in which I paid 400 and the letter review did absolutely nothing since he provided no advice that was going to help me. I then tried to message many 7 other consultant psychiatrists and all of them refused to see me due to my complications. I then messaged my initial doctor and he told me he apparently talked to the other doctor I saw and then he recommended 40-60mg antidepressant (which my GP was the one to recommend not him) as I simply asked for advice for how much to take for my mental health depression and anxiety bouts. He didn’t even bother to write me a letter just told me this through the portal. It’s almost as if the doctor who initially saw me at PsychiatryUK really simply wanted to get it done and over with which is absolutely disappointing and not what you expect of a consultant. The Clinical Lead of PsychiatryUK then told me to go through the local NHS mental health service instead as I needed someone in person to see me and wrote a referral letter (which didn’t even outline why in detail why I stopped the ADHD titration). Why did this doctor make me wait an entire year, fail to help me and then I get referred to my local NHS service. Could he have not just referred me to another doctor or told me this from the beginning? There are a number of issues I am dealing with and I have just recently seen doctors at my local service. He made me wait for so long instead of seeking support so much earlier that would have helped me. He provided with no solutions for treating pornography and masturbation addiction simply the “root cause was ADHD” for which he has no evidence that a sexual compulsive behaviour can be fully cured just because of my ADHD when I was medicating it with various emotions such as loneliness, sadness, anger and my social situation. Clearly, he cared less to even consider that. He even refused to acknowledge the fact that my previous dose of lisdexamfetamine when gone above 40mg actually made my porn fantasies worse. I tried explaining this and his only response was “it should make it less”. Yet again not listening to me and he wanted to increase the dose of methylphenidate XL to 75mg. I remember asking him “how is this treated” in our first session and his only response was “It’s new” simply because he lacked the knowledge and had no idea on how to treat this addiction. If he was honest with me from the start and told me instead to see another doctor or another clinic, I would have benefitted much more. There are other clinics and organisations I have recently found in the UK which do treat these addictions. Clearly, he does not. This really shows me that he has no expertise and is incompetent in treating sexually compulsive behaviours and I would not recommend this doctor at all if you are someone with a porn and masturbation addiction and his service for treating ADHD for people who are hypersensitive to stimulants is very poor. He is also very disappointing as a consultant because I genuinely look back and feel he really just didn’t care enough and wanted to get it done and over with. Furthermore, PsychiatryUK also disappointed me because their service was very poor with the other doctors who all refused to even see me despite me willing to pay.

I was discharged from Dr Abbasian care and supervision in December 2022. Dr Abbasian helped me reduce and finally end a long term dependency on anti-depressant; and recognise and remove other dependencies that contributed to my long term mental health condition. His approach is empathetic, and for me revolved around reducing dependencies (medication and alcohol) through professional clinical knowledge to help implant a lasting recognition within me between my state of mind and a myriad of environmental factors. This review is a month post discharge. At this time I believe Dr Abbasian provided care and supervision has helped restore a long lost personal clarity and responsibility. I would recommend consultation with Dr Abbasian.

My life became à nightmare filled with anxieties and Dr Abbasian helped me with médication and real actions, to get the clarity required to move the things around in my life. Today I am feeling myself again and it’s greatly appreciated thanks to Dr Abbasian. At some point, you can get so stressed and anxious that you don’t know what to do no more, or where to start so you just want to give up. This is exactly when Dr Abbasian can help you. It’s important to know in this process that there is no magic pill and you will still need to fight your demons, but this time with bigger shoulders. Thanks you so much!
