Claire is a rare breed of specialist: hugely knowledgable and experienced, tremendously warm, sensitive and compassionate. She welcomes you with open arms - literally. She waits by her door, and envelopes you in a wonderful, caring hug - and wishes you farewell in a similar way. Her blend of compassionate expertise causes any shame, sense of failure or weakness to evaporate, and being cared for by her has left me with a crucial and permanent sense of support and empathy. I suffered from severe treatment-resistant depression. Claire’s expertise in identifying and managing medications which did not impinge on my intellectually-demanding work, was demanding and creative. Medication created sufficient improvement in my mood for me to experience a reconnection with the world and for the therapeutic work which I did with her to empower me to make positive life changes. I view Claire as having saved my life, and then she helped me to carry on saving myself. To top it all - she has a wonderful sense of humour.
