Dr Hovell has evidenced a professional and considered respect for and consistent effort in engaging with a patient struggling to deal with the affect of chronic disease. He has , with the patients consent, made time to listen to the carers experience and given measured and practical information about possible options of treatment , whilst not avoiding the unpalatable reality for the patient. I respect the has and continues to leave the door to communication open for the patient, recognising the need to progress at their pace, whilst I am aware that he will be pressured by the organization. This is a life saving approach and one much appreciated. He has evidenced an ability to listen carefully and to take a necessary lead in the team work that is the patients, not always positive experience
