Dr Obuaya was amazing, professional throughout and genuinely interested in getting the best treatment for me. I felt relaxed and he was very easy to talk to. He gave me a sense of me being in control of knowing what was working for me and gave me the feeling that I was trusted in this! He worked with me to find what was causing issues with my medication and adjusted things to make them more suitable for my individual needs. My only criticism isn’t with Dr Obuaya at all but is directed at what the service can offer. Whilst I understand the strain the NHS is consistent under financially and I am grateful for the services that have been provided; ADHD medication only solves part of the problem and has much greater success when coupled with talking therapies, whilst some of my outward symptoms have been helped with medication the internal struggle is still there and I find it hard to move forward with my life when I know I’m only treating my ADHD with medication and not treating it in every way possible. What adds to this frustration is that when I have tried to refer myself for NHS talk therapies, the will not work on the issues that are related to ADHD but it’s common knowledge that ADHD and depression often go hand in hand!

Really friendly and calm. Made me feel like I am not alone and that its OK to have ADHD. This was so helpful as I sometimes have the worst imposter syndrome and doubt myself. Video call with Dr Obuaya was to the point and he gave useful advice on how I can improve the side effects of the tablets. He was smiley and had a really warm face which put me at ease straight away. Thank you!
