I find it very hard to believe that the preceding review is talking about the same doctor....Dr Avellini is one of the most understanding and compassionate doctors I have met and always gives a very personal touch. GPs are under tight time restraints but Dr Avellini always has time to talk and time to listen.She has gone the extra mile to help me and am very grateful for her care.

Sadly, after reading previous reviews I would have agreed until my most recent experience when I really needed her help and understanding with both my emotional issue and Cronic regional pain syndrome problem. Unfortunately she was very harsh, quite rude and just prescribed me another lot of pills which make no difference to my previous prescription and she ended up by telling me she can no longer help me and I should take leave, which I have now done until I either undergo another operation or get an appointment for pain management which had been overlooked! I hate to have to say this but I wish I had not seen her as I came away feeling even lower.

Dr Avellini is the only Doctor I will see at this practice. I like continuity as I have ongoing health problems and I struggle to communicate so to be able to always get an appointment with her is really important to me. She really understands me and is so caring about my situation, doing everything in her power to make me feel better (even if sometimes that is just being someone I can talk to and get reassurance from) as I struggle with depression and severe chronic pain. She has always gone beyond the normal standard of care and made me feel like I matter, not just as a patient but as a person and that my feelings and views really matter. She is a brilliant doctor.

Dr Avellini is, in one word, fantastic. She always listens, does her best and takes a real interest in you as a person. I have seen many doctors but she is the one I will wait for an appointment to see. She is no nonsense but in the best sense of the word, she will not just palm you off with more pills or placate you with words, she really digs deep down into what the problem is and takes great care of you, exploring all possible causes of your pain/illness and as a patient, you really matter to her. I have seen her for many years now and I really think she is an outstanding doctor.
