My GP referred me, having done some blood tests, and asked Dr Vasta for a rheumatalogical opinion on my symptoms. I asked her secretary prior to booking if she would listen to my symptoms or simply go on bloods and the secretary simply asked me to bring my blood results to clinic in her immediate reply, so I guess I should have listened to my gut instinct here but went to see her anyway. In clinic Dr Vasta seemed to mention a condition several times and told me to pay for more bloods (which isn't what my GP asked her to do). However, when these (which are only found in a small percentage of people with the condition) came back negative she wrote a letter to me which seemed to be very dismissive due to the blood results and offered no opinion on condition or explanation of symptoms, only asking her to inform me of one thing she previously said was in the remit of a haematologist my GP was referring me to separately, not her own. Before this letter arrived I rang her secretary to ask when my bloods would be reviewed and was told Dr Vasta would look at them in clinic later that week. The next day the letter arrived showing she had already seen them a week prior and Dr Vasta's letter was dated a week prior! I asked one further query about a blood test but she appears to be ignoring me! Still no opinion on my symptoms or diagnosis and I'm still unwell.
