I never met this wonderful man but I can still sing his praises for the care he gave me. I went into Hull Royal Infirmary A&E with symptoms of a stroke. I explained all my symptoms when I arrived. It took 6 hours to see a doctor and then a CT scan which didn’t show anything. I was told it was probably carpal tunnel syndrome in my hand. The next day, Dr Esisi rang me as he had been told of my attendance. He asked me to go in for tests the next day. I went in and had a neck scan, ECG and an MRI. He rang me later that night to tell me the MRI showed a stroke. In the following month I had an echocardiogram and a 72 hour heart monitor test. His quick response, thoroughness and advice saved my life which I am absolutely sure. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Absolutely fantastic doctor, so kind and helpful, really made me feel at ease. After a very unhelpful consultant at DMH, it was a refreshing change to have a consultant who seemed to care. The only thing I don’t like is he is referred to as a geriatric’s doctor!!!

treated me for a major cva stroke caused by pulmonary embolism at durham university hospital..i can not speak highly enough of the man..top doctor phil mulholland 58 years old
