Gaslighting my health concerns and saying it’s all in my head basically … totally lacking in compassion.
A very good professional nurologist with great knowledge of ms
I was under the care of Dr Turner privately following a stroke and found out afterwards that he actually specialises in MS. He does not work on a stroke clinic and this was very telling from the mistakes he made with my care. I subsequently went for a second opinion from a specialist stroke care neurologist. I subsequently realised that:
- Dr Turner almost certainly misdiagnosed the most likely cause of the stroke and initially entertained some fairly wild theories including RCVS when I did not display any of the clinical symptoms
- Dr Turner prescribed me the wrong type of statin at the wrong dose which was contrary to normally NICE guidelines
- Dr Turner referred me to other consultants, one who was no longer practicing and another who didn't specialise in the right area, indicating his lack of knowledge of services provided by the hospital where he worked
- Dr Turner failed to run all the correct blood tests and provided me with the incorrect information on blood tests on one occasion
Overall I found him to be sloppy with the detail with a tendency to bluff his way out when put under pressure. I refer to him to my friends and family as the Boris Johnson of the neurology profession (not meant as a compliment).
Decent bedside manner.
