I saw Dr Ben Mulhearn this morning 12th March my wife came in with me.
I found Ben very knowledgeable and helpful, every think he said to me he
included my Wife, he also explained the X-rays of my knees to my wife,
he also sent me a video to help with exercises and a name of a cream
that might help.
Ben was interested, engaging, did not rush, showed me the ultrasound images and explained what had happened , the injection into my shoulder was painless
Listened to me and made me feel at ease. Gave me good advice.
Dr Mulhearn combined professional empathy with businesslike efficiency to ensure that I got the most out of my appointment. He answered my questions; addressed my concerns and outlined the course of future treatment I could expect within the department. His manner was open, pleasant and friendly.
He recommended a website as a good source of exercises for osteoporosis and emailed the details to me. In addition he suggested I should visit the podiatrist and that he would contact them my behalf.
We discussed my lifestyle and he encouraged me to continue my walking routine and maintain a positive attitude to ameliorating the aches and pain even though at my age they are unlikely to go away. He judged that my moderate alcohol intake
should not be affecting my bone density, but gave clear advice about the limits.
I found Dr Mulhearn to be very considerate and caring. I was anxious that I wouldn’t be listened to but came away feeling listened to and understood.
