Dr Ayana Gibbs

Ayana qualified as a doctor in 1999 and trained in general and forensic psychiatry at the Maudsley and Bethlem Royal Hospitals in London where she also worked with the National Adult ADHD Service. She also has a PhD in Neuroscience from the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience (IoPPN) and has published several papers on psychopharmacology and personalised medicine. Ayana worked as a Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist in the NHS and as a clinical academic before moving to the pharmaceutical industry where she led medicine development programmes for depression and addiction. She subsequently returned to full time private clinical practice and has focused on diagnosis and management of adult ADHD for the last 5 years. Ayana has an interest in women’s health, particularly the transition through menopause and the relationship to ADHD symptoms. She has also completed courses in menopause care and is a member of the British Menopause Society. Ayana currently practises in the UK and the Caribbean.
