We were not impressed at all. We made a point of arriving at the so-called consulting rooms in good time as we did not want to inconvenience the Doctor. Upon arrival Doctor Oppenheim was terse, she said "you are early, cant you go for a coffee and return later. Given the fact that my wife was on crutches we told her that doing so would not really be practical, at that point we were allowed in but only as far as the Dental Practice Foyer. The Doctor then exited upstairs, she returned a while later and asked us if we had been moving around downstairs as she heard movements? The fact was a work-person was moving from room to room? She finally returned 25 mins past our appointment time, she initially expected my wife to climb many steps to her consulting room, when it became obvious to her that to do so would be impractical she suggested that we hold our "Private" consultation on seating to the side of the receptionists desk. During the consultation we were not allowed to ask any questions, if we tried to do so were told that she "had not got the time for that", our son has got Aspergers Syndrome, her comments and behaviour made him feel very anxious and upset. The Doctor cut us short when we attempted to discuss what we felt was the main subject, the reason he were there, she dismissed our attempts to refer to that subject at all. The Doctor insisted in toying with her mobile telephone, her reasoning being that she was on call and that if she was needed she would have to call an end to our meeting. Our Son wanted to look presentable so had made the effort to wear a suit, shirt and tie, The Doctor told him that he looked smart but that there was any need to do so, that instantly burst his bubble. The Doctor ended the meeting 35 minutes earlier than the appointed time, So we actually had a one hour consultation instead of the pre-arranged two hours? As mentioned earlier our Son has Aspergers Syndrome and he also has cerebral palsy and other medical problems, so why then would the Doctor suggest that he take up horse-riding? The Doctors report finally arrived several weeks later, 17 pages long, our representatives told us that the information in the report could have actually been condensed into 2 pages. In her report the Doctor mentions that our Son had worn a suit that day but that his told shirt button was unfastened, why on earth would you put that in a report, for what reason, we are talking about a sensitive young man here. Doctor Oppenheim, the reason his top button was not fastened was because he is small in stature but has a broad neck, the outfitter had adjusted the button for him but it was still tight. In conclusion, would we recommend this particular Doctor, absolutely not for the following reasons. He was terse towards us for arriving early, her consulting room in a Dental Practice was on an upper level inaccessible to the disabled. She was late for her appointment, we were not allowed to ask any questions and she cut the meeting short. She had suggested to us that we had been "moving around" downstairs in and out of rooms. The Doctor was abrupt in her many and in our opinion full of her own self importance, she was not at all understanding or considerate, there was no need to keep handling her mobile, they do have a ring facility. As for the report, if we had been allowed to ask questions and discuss and explain things to her then her report may well have been more reflective of our Sons situation. I know how much her report cost "Phew", our shredder did not like it as it packed in half the way through. This is just our personal opinion and condensed overview of our experience.
