Arabella come out to see me at my home to assess me. I have generalised anxiety. She asked me if I'd been sexually abused as a child in which I told her I hadn't been. She told me that maybe I had and I couldn't remember or I'd blocked it out. I am appalled that someone could suggest that to someone in a vulnerable position. Fortunately I have clarity despite my anxiety and know that I wasn't abused but what If she boldly said this to someone who was confused, unstable or out of touch with reality. Despite her coming out to asses me for a diagnosis I still don't have one. Just treading water with the warnford. They've never once helped me in a positive way or genuinely cared about my well being. For example once when suicidal, I called the crisis team and they took 14 days to respond!

I went for a appointment at my local doctors, people who were present at the meeting were Dr Arabella Norman-nott , Barbara cannon and my gp. I had a very bad experience with Dr Arabella norman-nott . she put me down saying that I had not got mental health problems and said I have not got P.T.S.D. she said it was all in my head and I told her all the problems I had ie: hearing voices, suicide attempts, slashing myself and taking overdose , and she didn't listen to me and just laughed at me thinking it was a joke. my husband was not amused by this situation. my GP took their side and not mine, I was very upset by this and was crying all the time, Dr nott should be struck off the medical board and have her sacked. she doesn't listen to people and just laughs at you. plus she would not give me a second option or a appointment at the warneford hospital. I even told her when Dr Thirston was in charge he had everything in place for me, had a care plan set up for me and was looking tp set me up with a social worker, then when he retired, Dr Arabella norman-nott took over him and messed all the work up that I did with the other doctor. I would not send nobody or get people to trust her,

I wrote things down to talk about but she completely ignored it and talked about whatever she wanted to. She has her own agenda before the appointment even happens. Makes assumptions instead of asking. Does not listen, is difficult to talk to and dismisses anything she doesn't agree with. I was discharged with no care plan or crises plan. A waste of time if you want to get better.

She had decided what she was going to do ( discharge me) before I saw her and dismissed everything I had carefully planned to say without listening. Fact is the team could and should have helped me but decided not to.

I was shocked by the review for Dr Arabella Norman-Nott dated 31st January 2015 in that it was exactly the same experience that I was subjected to by this doctor. I am afraid the review only touches upon the tip of the iceberg regarding the behaviour and complete lack of clinical acumen that Norman-Nott demonstrated towards myself. Of course I cannot speak about other patients experiences who have been unfortunate to be referred to this psychiatrist. By indicating that I saw this doctor soon after my sexual assault in December 2014, she will know the author of this review. My medical records authored by Norman-Nott were a disgrace that included a statement where in her opinion this assault was a delusion and to make matters worse she stated that she gleaned this information from my girlfriend. It is important to state that through an internal investigation by Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust, where Norman-Nott was interviewed her response was that she was wrong to come to such assumptions. The reason I have described these circumstances is to ensure readers that the information I have provided is supported by an investigation carried out by the Trust. Furthermore, under her care she provided absolutely no care pathway to support me and only provided medication. In fact, worse still I informed her that I had made a complaint about her behaviour to the GMC and the following day she sectioned me. I am not surprised someone else has experienced similar circumstances to myself and is an indication that others may fall victim to this clinically inept treatment from this doctor. I would advise anyone referred to a clinician to do background research before accepting the referral.
