I went to see Dr Lakidis today with my partner. My partner wrote a three page letter detailing his symptoms. The doctor glanced at this briefly starting at the back page, my partner mentioned this and told him that he was reading the wrong page first but he ignored him. My partner has suffered severe ill mental health and trauma since childhood but the doctor did not ask him anything about this. His questions were, how many children do you have and are you going on holiday this year. It felt like a visit to the hairdresser which would invariably have been more helpful. The doctor prescribed anti-psychotics. Total length of appointment time 10 minutes. In defence of the doctor, he looked tired and over-worked, his shirt was ill fitting and creased. He looked in need of help himself. This is the sad state of the NHS under to Tory government.

Dr Lakidis did not listen to my symptoms and seemed to make his mind up within minutes.he did not take my symptoms of suicidal ideation and self harm seriously. He was rude to me, raising his voice at times, and made me feel uncomfortable. He encouraged me to take potentially life threatening medication as I was undergoing investigation into a heart condition, he said as I was not yet diagnosed I did not have a problem! This man does not appear to be caring, his general attitude is distant. My dad also noticed this when he saw how he called me into a consultation.

I wouldn't recommend this man to anyone. The language barrier was difficult, but I can forgive anyone that. What isn't forgivable, especially for someone dealing in mental health, is his terse, dismissive manor and unwillingness to take on board what you say to him. Worse than feeling misunderstood, I felt like I wasn't believed, seemingly because he already had an idea of what my symptoms should be, and if what I said didn't match his preconceived idea, he just dismissed it. If he'd been unfriendly but helped, I would have taken that, but he was unfriendly and didn't help at all. I can't speak for other people, but I do know one other person who has to see him who has had a similar experience. From reading the other 2 reviews, the amount of thumbs up on the negative compared to the positive review tells all. Avoid if possible. Dr Afridi is a better option imo

The first time I met Dr lakidis was at hebden bridge medical centre, I moved from London after being in a phyciatric hospital in Lambeth London for 2 weeks, after living in London 5 years previous to have always lived in Halifax West Yorkshire, I had no support in London, I was finally given a support worker, that came to my house often, went to see dr lakidis, at the begginning l I found it hard to understand the language barrier, but eventually understood what he was saying to me, I wish I had the support in London that I have had from dr lakidis in Yorkshire, he has made me feel at ease, nobody will ever know or understand what I went through in London, but dr lakidis has made me feel that I have the support i need, no pressure, just listened to me at every appointment, a top guy!!!!

This man is ignorant, arrogant, unsympathetic and unempathetic. He didn't seem to like the fact that I had an opinion about my own condition, and spent most of my first appointment asking how I knew about Anhedonia. My second appointment lasted about 10. After he slammed his hands on his desk and shouted "Anhedonia does not exist", I said "this obviously isn't going to work" and I left. Unfortunately I was later referred back to him and had to attend or my benefits would have been stopped. All the staff and GP's seem to be aware of how poor his service is but no one seems bothered about doing anything. I pity anyone who gets referred to this charlatan.
