Terrible GP that doesn’t need know what the hell shes doing.
Without going into too much detail I had previously spoken to another GP about starting a medication, all she needed to do was prescribe the said medication. However she said didn’t know the dosage and therefore wouldn’t prescribe the tablets I need. She told me to make another appointment with a different doctor?!
I was absolutely dumbfounded, she made me feel stupid like I didn’t know what I was talking about (I’m a qualified nurse).
Once I was home I located the information on the medication in the BNF (all medical professionals have access to this) and the dosage is clearly documented. I should of in hindsite asked her to use a BNF but as her patient shouldn’t have to do that.
I am considering taking this even further and complaining to the GMC, especially having seen that this has happened before from previous comments on this page.
