I was referred during my first year of uni. Andy recognised my intellect and totally understood that my struggle at university was not ability, but, symptoms of ADHD. This was in 2014 and I have been seeing him on and off ever since. My university journey took me through lots of mental health systems: UK Crisis services and US private system. Andy beats all other psychiatrists by a mile: he actually takes time to understand context and provide reassurance. I get the sense with Andy that when he prescribes medication: it is genuinely because it can help (as opposed to NHS priority of being discharged quickly) His meetings with me, which have been annually, have always helped: always refers back to previous meetings, and, this has enabled him to make a diagnosis of bi polar and provide further support and understanding of myself, which I would not have gotten otherwise. Andy also replies to patient portal/email messages in depth, informatively and quickly.

It was by far one of the most pleasant experiences I've had with a medical professional. I had some anxiety before my appointment and it quickly melted away once the session started. I felt safe and comfortable enough to share how I felt without fear that I would be condescended or told I was exaggerating

I thought Dr Montgomery was great, he was very thorough and listened to everything intensely and allowed me time to think and open up. I felt like he had a great presence where I felt not judged or anything and I could trust him easily, I feel confident moving forward seeing him and would recommend him to anyone that is looking to see a psychiatrist. Only thing I would say to improve is potentially a little more time allowed so the appointment did not feel so abrupt in it finishing.

Dr Montgomery was very kind, considerate and helpful in the appointment. He really helped me figure out how to cope with ADHD and gave me several additional pieces f information about ADHD in addition to the appointment. Very polite and I am very thankful for his help
