Dr Johnston was informative and calming. I was quite anxious about the procedure being carried out under local anaesthetic/sedation and he was very reassuring and I felt confident from that moment that I was in good hands. Procedure went very well and was quick and pain free.

Dr Andrew Johnston’s calm, caring manner inspired confidence immediately and he listened carefully to my concerns and my wishes. He helped me come up with the best possible solution for my medical condition and despite exceedingly difficult vascular access managed a successful outcome.
Many thanks.
I didn't get to meet Dr Johnston until the day of my surgery, where he came down an hour or two beforehand to meet me and talk through things (that's not a complaint, I understand that's how it's commonly done).
Despite that, he was already fully aware of the concerns and questions I'd raised, a good sign for being proactively informed, and was able to talk through all of them and reassure me; it also gave me peace of mind that I knew he'd be looking out for specific possible complications I was worried about, although none happened in the end.
He was a very reassuring presence, talked through everything that was going to happen, and before/while they put me under he helped keep me calm.
It was my first general anaesthetic and, thanks largely to Dr Johnston, it wasn't a bad experience, and I'd be much more comfortable in future if I ever needed one again.
Dr Johnston was extremely patient and understanding explaining exactly what he was going to do and reassuring me every step of the way. He made what was quite an anxious procedure really easy.
