I saw Dr Andrew Charley just over 3 years ago as part of a long string of referrals and appointments that led me to the diagnosis and treatment of my rheumatalogical health conditions. He was patronising and told me that my complaints were "nothing to worry about". 9 months after seeing him I was a patient in Great Ormond Street Hospital receiving intensive treatment and rehabilitation and I still am as of 2022. His ill-judged comments were extremely unnecessary and slowed down my referrals, while I was in considerable pain on a day-to-day basis. GPs are supposed to know how to examine and evaluate joint problems but he does not. I should also add that he is my GP and was blissfully unaware of my treatment until earlier this year, when my consultant at GOSH rang him up and told him off for refusing to prescribe my medication and for not caring about my health. Please steer clear of him. Although I have heard and do not doubt that he is competent and knowledgeable in some areas of medicine, he does not have a "full set" as it were and therefore unless you are consulting him on his specialist issues, I would definitely not recommend him.

He gave me such an unpleasant experience. I was telling him the fact of symptoms and asking for an arrangement for a test - NHS website even says those symptoms and says i should see to Dr to arrange a test. He asked me why i should take a test??? What a unlucky day i was having. He was pretty rude in the patronising way. I would NOT want to see this Dr EVER again.

He asked several inappropriate and direct questions which were not at all related to my medical condition but clearly revealed more about his personal judgements and prejudice . He rudely questioned the validity of my current vocation and he then minimised my problem in a patronising way. To be fair he did appear to do a thorough check and seems intelligent, but his manner is toxic.
