I ended up in ward 8a in the early hours of the morning after Mothers day, and was under Dr Broadley. He sent me home the following Thursday, with antibiotics, saying I would now be OK. I said I wouldn't, there was something wrong with me, but he insisted I would be OK. 8 days later on the Friday, I saw my doctor, who after a few tests said he was going to ring for an ambulance to take me to hospital, where I was for 15 days, coming out on the 6th April. I was then in ward 8a again, under Dr George Chung, who diagnosed what was causing the problem, gave me suitable medication, including diuretics, to clear my lungs of fluid. I was discharged after my lungs were clear, losing 14lbs in weight. I was also prescribed various drugs to help my heart to function in the future, and I have now been to see the follow up "Heart failure nurse". My view of the treatment provided by Dr Chung, absolutely brilliant!
Dr Broadley came across as very kind and compassionate. Would have no hesitation in my Mother seeing him again, or recommending him to others.
I am very lucky to have a consultant like Dr Broadley to look after me. I came away from today's consultation feeling that I could communicate to him my problems and that he was listening. I am in good hands and very grateful for it.
